The Nuwa Experiment and What’s Next

2 min readJun 18, 2025

TEEs (Trusted Execution Environments) enable private, verifiable computation. At Rena, we believe TEEs are leading the adoption of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) in real world business scenarios. Our chain is built to support these confidential workloads while preserving public auditability, verifying outputs without revealing underlying data.

Nuwa was our first experiment to showcase how Rena’s TEEs perform in production. It introduced users to verifiable interactions with autonomous AI agents, what we call Agent Twins, that mimicked real Twitter personalities. These agents operated entirely inside Rena’s TEE infrastructure, handling real-time interactions while staying invisible to users. No friction, no extra steps — just smooth verification under the hood.

Over the course of the four-week experiment, Nuwa processed more than 100,000 verified TEE interactions and launched over a dozen Twin Agents, all powered by Rena’s infrastructure.

Participants also earned thousands of esINIT rewards through Initia’s VIP program simply by taking part in the experiment.

After delivering a successful first consumer experience with TEEs, we’re now winding down the Nuwa experiment. As part of this, Nuwa will be delisted from Initia’s VIP program, allowing Initia to redirect incentives elsewhere. You can find more details in our forum post.

What’s Next for Rena

Our focus is shifting toward a Private Data Marketplace: a system that enables model training and inference on private user data without compromising privacy. All data remains protected by Rena’s TEE infrastructure, never exposed to humans or models directly.

The computation happens entirely within the enclave, and only the results are released. These results are verifiable while the data itself remains private.

We’re also working with early B2B partners on tools that create real-world demand for TEE-based compute.

At the core of it all is Rena’s data settlement chain. It serves as a public layer for attestations and integrity proofs across all of our upcoming products.

We hope you enjoyed interacting with Nuwa and we look forward to continuing to build towards a verifiable and privacy-focused future.
